What about Classes for Teens?
Ages 13-
Navigating through the teenage years today can be
tough. Peer pressure is everywhere. Popularity is
often as the only way to make it through.
Heather says, “I want to be popular no matter what.
I’ll do whatever it takes! ”Monica says, “I’d like to be
popular, of course...but not at any price.”
As parents, the thought expressed by “Heather” is
bound to make us uneasy. Monica, of course,
expresses a healthier perspective. The message our kids are getting from the media, and even
at school, is that they have to give in, to go with the crowd.
We’re here to teach these young adults to be a person who
does the right thing...no matter what other people think;
and that loyalty, integrity, and kindness will lead to genuine
popularity!
We teach them to treat all others, regardless of social status, with respect and courtesy. We teach them not to be tricked into doing things they know are wrong, in order to gain popularity. Above all, we continually teach them about the value and the importance of their relationship to their parents and siblings within their family. A young person who has a strong sense of pride won’t succumb to the pressure to be TOO popular. Popularity will come to your child when people recognize her or him as a person with integrity!
You see, here at Martial Arts Advantage, we teach students to stand for something, so they don’t fall for anything.
Tom Callos, who has also been teaching Martial Arts for over 30 years, shares his experience and insight with parents who are considering enrolling their child in Karate. Take a minute or two to view the video and see all the great benefits the martial arts can offer.
